Important Safety Information
Read this before starting any treatment. This page is general information and does not replace the guidance of your provider or the materials that ship with your medication.
General
Only take medication that has been prescribed to you, exactly as directed. Never share prescription medication. Tell your provider about every medication and supplement you take, including over-the-counter products.
Compounded medications
Compounded medications are prepared by licensed pharmacies for an individual patient. They are not FDA-approved products, and the FDA does not evaluate them for safety, effectiveness or quality in the way it does approved drugs.
GLP-1 therapies
- Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation and abdominal discomfort.
- Do not use if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2.
- Seek care immediately for severe, persistent abdominal pain, which may indicate pancreatitis.
- Not for use during pregnancy or while trying to conceive.
Hormone therapy
- Testosterone therapy may affect fertility, red blood cell count, mood and blood pressure and requires ongoing lab monitoring.
- Estrogen therapies carry risks that should be discussed individually with your provider.
- Report chest pain, shortness of breath, leg swelling or vision changes immediately.
Peptides and research-informed protocols
Many peptides have limited clinical trial data in humans. Statements about them are educational and have not been evaluated by the FDA. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Emergencies
If you experience a serious reaction, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. You can also report side effects to the FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.
